April 12, 2010, 6 Laotian delegates led by the Minister of Ministry of Health, Mr.  Ponmek Dalaloy, visited CHEI. An academic seminar focusing on hot topics in Chinese health reform was held.

        Mr.  Ponmek Dalaloy showed his acknowledgement to CHEI about organizing this seminar and listened to the presentations provided by Mr. Zhang Zhenzhong, the Director-general of CHEI and other researchers delivered their presentations on health insurance system and Medical Assistance systems in China, financing and accounting system reform in public hospitals, approaches of improving health care service quality, health personnel building.  Mr.  Ponmek Dalaloy indicated that China and Laos are close neighbors. Even though China and Laos have different situations, there are still a lot of similarities.Hopefully, Laos can learn some Chinese experience for a health reform in Laos.

         During the meeting, Mr. Zhang Zhenzhong expressed his expectation that both countries can work together, improve the communication regarding health policy research and health reform experience, and eventually make contributions to the benefit for all people of the two countries.

         The delegation led by the Minister Ponmek Dalaloy was invited by MOH of China to conduct a visit from 10^th Apr. to 17^th Apr., 2010. The purpose of the visit is to understand Chinese health reform and seek for corporation in pharmaceutical resource exploration, production and sale.
